The Argument For Taking Some Bed Linen When You Go Travelling

The majority of us like a relaxing holiday where we can kick back and relax.  But more and more of us are now also going on less traditional holidays.  The desire to see the world is an increasing feeling amongst students taking a year out from their studies, as well as workers on career breaks.  On these extended trips, unless we are wealthy and can afford to stay at the best hotels, we are likely to find ourselves roughing it a bit – which is all part of the experience.  This is why bed linen, although not the most glamorous item to pack, is certainly one of the more essential.

Standard of hotel

In order to extend your trip as long as possible you may well end up opting for the cheaper option in hotels, or huts as it might be.  This makes it likely that the cleanliness of the room and the bed linen will not be what you are used to.  If this kind of situation arises you will be delighted that you opted to bring a thin cotton sleeping bag along.  You can easily slide into the sleeping bag and lie on top of the provided bedding, or under it of you need its warmth, without ever coming into contact with the dirty sheets.

Temperature

When travelling in countries that are hot you may find that the locals use and provide you with a bedding that is thicker than what you need.  Having your sleeping bag will again come in, offering you some protection from the night, but not so much that you will be too hot.

Comfort

You will experience a big drop in temperature during the night when travelling in areas that are at a high altitude.  Wherever you are staying you are likely to find thick warm blankets, however more often than not they will be of a coarse material.  Sleeping under the blankets, but inside your own bed linen, will avoid contact with the rough fabric affording you a comfortable night’s sleep.
